New Delhi: As Rekha Gupta took oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister, her past tweets went viral, exposing her alleged communal and controversial remarks. Several tweets targeted Muslims, questioning their patriotism. She also mocked Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal, revealing her rabble-rouser side.
A video shows Gupta abusing university students. She studied at Delhi University and was elected DU Students’ Union secretary in 1995 as an ABVP candidate, alongside NSUI’s Alka Lamba.
X user Priyanka Bharti shared a video of Gupta abusing Muslim citizens, quoting her:
“You eat for free… study for ₹10, yet oppose fee hikes? Traitors! JNU should be shut down!~ Delhi CM”
Bharti also criticized BJP leader OP Dhankar, who selected Gupta as BJP’s Delhi legislature leader:
“OP Dhankar once said ‘we will bring women from Bihar to Haryana for marriage.’ He identified this gem!”
X user Vibhor Anand wrote: “A glimpse of her past shows Delhi’s future rollercoaster. Share with friends!”
User Amock reposted Anand’s message:
“She deleted this tweet too! More dangerous and foul-mouthed than Ramesh Bidhuri. Expose her!”
Another tweet allegedly showed Gupta comparing Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi to Ravan and Soorpanakha.
Social media users also reshared a video of her vandalizing MCD property.
X user Bharat Bhushan Barwala wrote:
“Meet Rekha Gupta—BJP’s unelected CM. Caught vandalizing MCD property. Delhi didn’t vote for her. BJP imposed her. Good luck, Delhi!”
After the tweets surfaced, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate remarked:
“Upset over her old tweets? BJP leaders thrive on hate and poison. Their top leader even says ‘Mujra’ on stage!”
