Mumbai: The passing of Maulana Zaid Ayoubi has left a deep void in the Muslim community, as he was a distinguished Islamic scholar, an exceptional mentor, and a role model. His efforts illuminated the lives of many, and his departure is a source of immense sorrow.
Expressing grief over his demise, Maulana Muhammad Naseer Islahi, General Secretary of Majlis Ulama Tehreek Islami Maharashtra, said, “Maulana Zaid Ayoubi’s contributions to the community were invaluable. His dedication to religious education and mentorship shaped countless lives.”
Born in 1947 in Malegaon, Nashik district, Maharashtra, Maulana Zaid Ayoubi passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 77. He completed his education at Ma’had Al-Millat in Malegaon and later served as a teacher at Jamia Al-Huda (Malegaon) and Madarsa Dar-ul-Islam (Jalna). Additionally, he played a key role as the Assistant Secretary in the Training Department of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra.
Known for his deep knowledge of the Quran and Hadith, Maulana Ayoubi’s sermons and speeches were enriched with references from Islamic teachings. His gentle tone and heartfelt delivery left a lasting impact on listeners. He was deeply moved by the struggles of the Muslim community and actively worked towards their revival and upliftment. Despite being a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, he transcended organizational and sectarian boundaries to support noble causes.
Living a life of humility and simplicity, Maulana Ayoubi never sought material luxuries, power, or recognition. His sincerity and modesty made him a beloved figure among all who met him. His legacy is a reminder of selfless service to the faith and the community.
