NCM Writes to Chhattisgarh Govt on Hate Speech by Aadesh Soni

The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) has written to the Chhattisgarh government regarding a hate speech by Aadesh Soni on March 1, 2025, calling for violence against Christians.

The complaint, filed by A.C. Michael, National Coordinator of the United Christian Forum, highlights an incendiary Facebook post by Soni, allegedly inciting sexual assault and murder of Christians. A video clip also shows him speaking at a Dharm Sansad in Prayagraj, referring to a rally from Raipur to Bishrampur against cow slaughter. The post and video suggest he was mobilizing a movement for genocide against Christians.

Soni denied the allegations, calling the post fabricated. However, given the sensitive nature of the matter, the petitioner urged an investigation, action against the rally, and steps to protect the minority community.

The NCM has asked the government to ensure safety for Christians and submit a detailed report urgently.

Advocate Anastasia Gill, former Delhi Minority Commission member, condemned Soni, stating that his speech violates human dignity and encourages violence against women during communal riots. She called for strict action against him.

Gill also criticized the use of a religious platform like Dharm Sansad for hate speech, questioning who supports Soni’s agenda. She warned that religion is being misused to divide society, violating the spirit of the Constitution.
