New Delhi: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of CPI(M), has secured a majority in the newly elected Ambedkar University Delhi Students’ Council (AUDSC) 2025-26, becoming the largest force on campus. Despite multiple attempts by the RSS-affiliated ABVP to establish a presence across the university’s three campuses, it has once again failed.
In the next phase, SFI’s Councillors will play a crucial role in shaping the 5-member Central Coordination Committee (CCC), the indirectly elected Central Panel of AUDSC.
“In the last two student union elections of 2018 and 2019, SFI secured a majority, and this time, we have ensured an SFI-led CCC once again. Despite the administration’s reluctance to hold elections, our yearlong campaign since post-COVID reopening forced them to conduct them. This is a victory for the common students of AUD,” said Shefali, Secretary of SFI AUD Kashmere Gate Campus Unit.
“ABVP has persistently tried to infiltrate the campus, influencing newly hired right-leaning faculty by bypassing standard hiring norms. However, AUD students have outrightly rejected ABVP’s communal and venomous politics in these elections, reaffirming their commitment to progressive values,” said Anan, Convenor of SFI AUD Karampura Gate Campus.
The landslide victory of SFI in AUDSC 2025 reflects its growing influence across Delhi universities, following significant wins in JNU, Ramjas College, DU-ICC, and a rising vote share in DUSU. The SFI State Committee congratulated all comrades who won under the banner of ‘Independence, Democracy, Socialism’ across AUD campuses.
