AMU’s Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib Organizes Health Awareness Camp

Aligarh: The Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib (Preventive and Social Medicine), Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University, organised a Health Awareness Camp as part of the Tribal AYUSH Awareness Campaign initiated by the Government of India. The event was held at the Aligarh Exhibition Ground, where an encouraging response from the community was witnessed.

The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Rubi Anjum, Chairperson of the Department, along with Dr. Hashmat Usmani, Medical Officer, District Hospital, Aligarh. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Anjum emphasised that the primary objective of the camp was to raise awareness about personal hygiene, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and the importance of preventive healthcare.

Dr. Ammar Ibne Anwar, convener of the camp, acknowledged the support of Dr. Neeraj Tyagi, Chief Medical Officer, District Hospital, Aligarh, for facilitating the infrastructure and venue for the event.

The camp attracted over 250 visitors, who actively participated in various health awareness activities. In addition, Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements were conducted to assess the health status of attendees, and Junior Residents provided guidance on lifestyle interventions to promote better health practices.
