Jamia Millia Islamia Expands Academic Horizon with 14 New Courses in Prospectus 2025-26

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially launched its prospectus for the academic session 2025-26, marking the beginning of the admission process. The 145-page document was unveiled online by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, alongside the university’s Prospectus Committee members.
This year, JMI has introduced 14 new courses to enhance academic excellence and skill development. These include Bachelor of Design (B. Des), B.Sc (Hons) Computer Science, and several certificate and diploma programs in fields like graphic art, fire safety, and curatorial practices. The university has also reduced fees for applicants from SAARC countries and foreign nationals enrolling in diploma courses under the University Polytechnic. Additionally, two BDS seats have been reserved for foreign students, and international PhD applicants can now appear for admission interviews online.
A major change in the admission process includes an increase in the number of programs accepting CUET scores, with 25 courses now falling under this system. To ensure accessibility and diversity, JMI will also conduct entrance exams for 29 programs in eight cities, including Malegaon and Bhopal.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif emphasized that the university aims to provide students with practical skills alongside academic knowledge to boost employability. He also highlighted JMI’s commitment to promoting Indian Knowledge Systems and expanding foreign language offerings in collaboration with various embassies. Furthermore, the university plans to improve campus facilities, including IT infrastructure, sports amenities for self-financed students, and an evening medical OPD.
Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi praised the timely release of the prospectus and the introduction of new courses, which align with industry demands and cutting-edge research. He also noted that additional entrance test centers will help students from remote areas access education at JMI.
With the release of the prospectus, admissions for the 2025-26 academic session are now open. Prospective students can download the document from https://admission.jmi.ac.in and apply online. The prospectus provides detailed information on undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, including eligibility criteria, deadlines, entrance test dates, fees, and other essential details.
