CPI(M) Accuses BJP-RSS of Communalizing Beawar (Bijainagar) Incident

Jaipur – The Rajasthan State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has strongly criticized efforts by BJP and RSS-affiliated groups to incite communal tensions in Bijainagar, Beawar, following a recent case involving a minor girl. The party condemned the attempt to give the matter a religious color and demanded a fair investigation.
A CPI(M) fact-finding delegation visited Bijainagar on February 28 and March 1, 2025, to assess the situation. Led by CPI(M) State Secretariat member Dr. Sanjay “Madhav,” the team included Ajmer District Secretary Dr. Praveen Kulshreshtha and DYFI Rajasthan Treasurer Ritansh Azad. They met affected families, local residents, and police officials to gather accurate information. Their findings revealed that several Muslim youths were arrested on February 15-16 under the POCSO Act, and while police were still investigating, BJP-RSS leaders branded the case as “Love Jihad” and called for the demolition of the accused’s houses. Right-wing protests and business shutdowns followed across Rajasthan, while media trials further fueled tensions.
Despite ongoing investigations, BJP-RSS leaders made inflammatory remarks, labeling the incident a “Jihadi conspiracy” without evidence. Some media outlets amplified this narrative, although Rajasthan IG later dismissed the “Love Jihad” claims, stating no such proof had emerged. Many Hindu residents also rejected the communal allegations, describing them as politically motivated. The CPI(M) report highlighted that Bijainagar has historically been a peaceful town where Hindus and Muslims coexist, and friendships between youth from different communities are common. The party pointed to political and business rivalries as underlying factors, with BJP and RSS-affiliated figures like Bharat Sharma and Tarun Sharma accused of fueling tensions for political gain.
Fear and uncertainty have now gripped the Muslim community, with many families afraid to speak out. However, the delegation noted that despite the communal propaganda, local people continue to live together harmoniously. CPI(M) asserted that the case should be treated purely as a law-and-order issue and not be communalized. It called for impartial action against any wrongdoing while ensuring justice for both the victim and the accused. The party warned that using such incidents for political polarization threatens social harmony and urged the government to intervene before tensions escalate further. CPI(M) also demanded an end to media trials and a fair investigation based on facts rather than propaganda.
The report concluded that the real sentiments of Bijainagar’s residents do not align with the political and media narratives being pushed, and that deliberate attempts to disrupt communal harmony must be stopped. CPI(M) emphasized the need for the police and the state government to act without bias and dispel fears of injustice.
