Lucknow: UP BJP MLA Ketakee Singh demanded a separate hospital wing for Muslims, claiming it would keep Hindus “safe” (taki hum surakshit rahe).
After the UP government announced a medical college in Ballia, Singh urged CM Yogi Adityanath to create a separate Muslim facility.
“Muslims oppose Holi, Ram Navami, and Durga Puja; they may also resist treatment with us,” she told reporters.
“We don’t know what they spit on. A separate wing will make us feel safe,” she added.
Her remarks sparked outrage, with Congress and SP leaders calling it a bid to disrupt communal harmony.
The BJP has yet to respond officially.
