AMU’s University Women’s Polytechnic Students Excel at AETHER 2025

Prof. Salma Shaheen Commends Award-Winning Presentation on Semiconductor Advancements

Aligarh: Ms. Harleen Kaur and Ms. Prachi Singh, second-year Diploma students of Electronics Engineering at University Women’s Polytechnic, AMU, have won the Best Presentation Award and a cash prize at AETHER 2025. They were guided by Dr. Shahbaz Hussain.

The science symposium, held from February 25-27 was organised by Olympia Academia – WC Team under the American Physical Society at Women’s College, AMU.

Their project, “Advancement of Semiconductors Beyond Silicon,” explores new circuit design techniques for analog and digital systems. It focuses on emerging technologies like GaN, CNFETs, Spintronics, and NCFETs, which improve high-speed computing, energy efficiency, and memory systems.

Prof. Salma Shaheen, Principal, University Women’s Polytechnic, lauded the students, stating, “Their dedication and innovative approach reflect the high standards of academic excellence at AMU. Their success is a source of immense pride for the institution.”

Dr. Mohd Ajmal Kafeel, Section In-charge of Electronics Engineering, also appreciated their achievement.
