Govt Must Ensure Peace During Ramadan and Holi: Maulana Nadeem Siddiqui

Mumbai: Maulana Nadeem Siddiqui, President of Jamiat Ulema Maharashtra, has urged the government to take firm measures to maintain peace as the festivals of Holi and Dhulandi coincide with Ramadan this year. In a special message, he emphasized that mischievous elements have previously attempted to incite tensions during such occasions, and strict security arrangements must be ensured in sensitive areas.
Maulana Siddiqui called upon Muslims to focus on worship, patience, and self-discipline during Ramadan, which is a month of spiritual purification. He reminded the community that the essence of Ramadan lies in piety and tolerance and that any provocation should be met with wisdom and restraint. He advised that in case of any untoward incident, people should immediately inform the local authorities instead of taking matters into their own hands.
Highlighting past incidents of communal disturbances, he stressed the need for increased police vigilance in vulnerable areas. He expressed hope that the Maharashtra government would take proactive steps to prevent any attempts to disrupt communal harmony.
He also urged the public to dedicate themselves to Quranic recitation, charity, and moral upliftment, emphasizing that Ramadan teaches selflessness and peace, which must be upheld during this critical period.
