Nagpur: Emphasizing the need for women to recognize their potential and collectively resist oppression, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Nagpur Women’s Wing organized an Iftar program at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan under the theme ‘From Victim to Victor: An Analysis’. The event, held in observance of Women’s Day, brought together representatives from various women’s organizations.
Ms. Benazir Khan, President of JIH Women’s Wing Nagpur, highlighted the role of Islamic principles in addressing the challenges faced by women. Saroj Aglawe expressed concern that, despite decades of independence, Indian women continue to be deprived of fundamental rights. Chhaya Khobragade emphasized the persistent lack of education among girls, attributing it to patriarchal societal norms.
Presiding over the event, Sushma Bhad urged women to study the Indian Constitution and actively advocate for their rights. Assistant Secretary of JIH Maharashtra, Nafeesa Atiq, shed light on the significance of Ramadan and fasting. The program also saw participation from organizations like the National OBC Women’s Federation and Jijau Brigade.
A special Q&A session on constitutional rights was conducted, and notable dignitaries were honored for their contributions to women’s empowerment.
