SDPI Accuses Central Government of Misusing Agencies to Suppress Dissent

Raheem Khan
Jaipur: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has accused the Central Government of using investigative agencies to silence opposition voices. The party, which fights against hunger and fear, has been actively opposing the government’s anti-people and discriminatory policies.
Since the ruling party came to power, suppression of dissent has intensified. Laws like UAPA, NSA, and PMLA are being used to attack democracy and free speech. SDPI leaders claim the government is targeting them as part of “politics of vendetta” for opposing its authoritarian policies and bias against minorities.
The arrest of SDPI National President M.K. Faizy by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is seen as an attempt to silence the party. SDPI believes this move is meant to intimidate its leaders, workers, and supporters. The government is reportedly rattled by SDPI’s protests against the Waqf Amendment Bill and its stance on unemployment, inflation, lynching, and bulldozer politics.
SDPI asserts that raids, arrests, and false allegations will not break its resolve. The ED’s searches at SDPI offices and leaders’ residences have found no incriminating evidence. The party strongly condemns Faizy’s arrest and calls the BJP-led government undemocratic and unconstitutional.
SDPI urges opposition leaders to unite against what it calls a dictatorial and divisive regime to protect democracy and the Constitution.
At a press conference at the Pink City Press Club in Jaipur, SDPI leaders Elyas Thumbe, Yasmeen Farooqui, Sadashiv Tripathi, Azhar Tamboli, and Dr. Shahabuddin voiced their protest.
