AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has firmly denied any alliance with the BJP, contradicting Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assertion that the NDA would form the government in Tamil Nadu in 2026, reported the Deccan Herald.
Speaking to reporters in Salem, Palaniswami reiterated that AIADMK has severed ties with the BJP and will not form an alliance even for the 2026 state assembly elections.
He emphasized that AIADMK is a separate entity and the main opposition in Tamil Nadu, while BJP is a national party.
Palaniswami also dismissed claims of political discussions during his meetings with Amit Shah, stating that their interactions were purely for administrative purposes, such as seeking funds for state projects.
In response, the DMK labeled AIADMK’s stance as ‘drama,’ accusing them of maintaining covert ties with the BJP.
