New Delhi : In a significant step towards integrating Islamic values with modern pedagogical approaches, the Markazi Taleemi Board of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind officially launched a new set of curriculum books for the foundational grades in both English and Urdu mediums. The launch event, held at the Media Hall of the Jamaat headquarters, drew a host of educationists, dignitaries, school administrators, and enthusiastic observers of curriculum reform.
A Vision Realized
One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of three new Islamic Studies books authored by Ms. Hina Farhan from Bhopal, designed for Nursery, Lower KG, and Upper KG students. These books, titled Islamic Studies, aim to provide a well-rounded foundation of Islamic teachings for young learners. Their launch marks a personal milestone for the author, an Islamic Studies educator, who expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“As an educator, it has always been my dream to publish my own books—and today, by the grace of Allah, that dream has come true.”
These books are not just ordinary textbooks; they are thoughtfully designed around the National Education Policy (NEP) framework and emphasize values-based, interactive, and multimedia-supported learning.
Multi-Language, Multi-Subject Curriculum
In addition to the Islamic Studies series in English, the Board has also released:
• Five Islamiyat books in Urdu for Nursery, LKG, UKG, Grade 1, and Grade 2.
• Four parts of Islamiyat for Part-Time Makatib, specifically for morning and evening madrasas.
Alongside these, Dr. Aneesa Zainab from Bangalore has developed new subject textbooks in English, which were also released at the event:
• English for LKG (in two semesters)
• Maths for Nursery (in two semesters)
• EVS for Nursery (in two semesters)
Each of these books has undergone a rigorous review process by a designated committee before being finalized for publication.
