Welfare Party plans week-long national campaign against Waqf Act

Welfare Party of India (WPI) announced a week-long national campaign to save Waqf at a press conference held at the Press Club of India on Saturday.
WPI urged all citizens, civil society, organisations, and like-minded political parties to join the campaign and demand repeal of all amendments in the Waqf Act 2025.
S.Q.R. Ilyas, WPI National General Secretary and AIMPLB spokesperson, said AIMPLB, Muslim bodies, civil society, and opposition parties will continue protests until all contentious provisions are repealed.
WPI condemned the Waqf Amendment Act 2025, calling it a clear attempt to weaken the constitutional rights of Muslims and allow encroachment of Waqf land by government, land mafia, and private individuals.
Ilyas welcomed the Supreme Court’s timely intervention and praised its role in safeguarding constitutional rights.
WPI National President Dr. Raisuddin, Vice President Shri Ravi Shankar Tripathi, and General Secretary Ms. Sheema Mohsin also addressed the media.
