Mamata Banerjee Holds RSS-BJP Responsible for Fueling Communal Tensions in Bengal

Kolkata – West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly condemned the role of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in inciting communal unrest in the state. Addressing recent incidents in Murshidabad and other regions, Banerjee accused these organizations of deliberately stoking religious tensions for political mileage.
Speaking firmly, the Chief Minister alleged that the BJP-RSS nexus is spreading misinformation and communal hatred to disturb Bengal’s longstanding tradition of harmony and unity. She stated that their actions are part of a broader strategy to polarize society and extract electoral benefits by dividing people along religious lines.
“The RSS and BJP are trying to set Bengal on fire with their divisive agenda. They are misusing religion to create rifts between communities,” Banerjee said, warning the public not to fall prey to such tactics. She reiterated her commitment to preserving peace and pluralism, urging all citizens to stand united against forces that seek to disrupt social cohesion.
In a defensive response, BJP leaders tried to shift the blame, accusing Banerjee of politicizing the issue. However, many political analysts view her statements as a necessary stand against communal politics that threaten the secular fabric of the state.
Banerjee’s call for unity and alertness against communal propaganda has resonated with many across Bengal, reaffirming her position as a leader committed to protecting the inclusive ethos of the region.
