Muslim Representation in UPSC in Recent Years:

- 2022: 30 out of 933
- 2021: 21 out of 685
- 2020: 31 out of 761
- 2009–2015: Between 30 and 52 each year
- 2010: Dr. Shah Faesal topped the exam
Despite consistent participation, the representation of Muslims in UPSC results remains a concern. Experts and educators continue to emphasize the need for inclusive academic coaching and equal opportunities.
Coaching Academies’ Contribution:
From Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), 32 candidates were selected this year out of the 78 who appeared for interviews. Among the selected, 12 are women. Notably, All India Rank 33 – Alfred Thomas, Rank 40 – Iram Choudhary, and Rank 51 – Ruchika Jha received coaching at Jamia RCA.
Students from Aligarh Muslim University’s RCA also made their mark, with Shakeel Ahmad (Rank 506), Yasir Ahmad Bhatti (Rank 768), and Nazir Ahmad Bizran (Rank 847) among the successful candidates.
While the numbers reflect some progress, experts highlight the urgent need for broader access to educational resources and targeted support for marginalized communities to improve their representation in elite government services.
