Maharashtra Tourist Debunks ‘Godi Media’ Narrative, Showcases Real Unity in Kashmir

Pooja Jadhav, a tourist from Beed district in Maharashtra, has become a powerful voice for truth and harmony after sharing her recent experience from Kashmir. In a video now widely circulated on social media, she challenges the divisive and fear-driven narratives often propagated by sections of the mainstream media, frequently referred to as “Godi Media.”
Jadhav, speaking candidly, said, “We Hindus and Muslims are good to each other and have no fear of one another. The media shows something completely different. Here in Kashmir, Muslims have been very cooperative with me. I am a Hindu, and this is the uniqueness of India — our unity in diversity. Only selfish politicians are using religion as a tool to divide us, but the truth is, we live with a sense of brotherhood.”
Her video on X, paints a picture of peace, warmth, and hospitality, standing in stark contrast to the hostile image of Kashmir often portrayed by certain television studios. She urged people to see the reality for themselves rather than blindly accepting what is shown in the media.
Jadhav’s message has struck a chord with many viewers across India. Her bold and heartfelt words have gone viral, drawing widespread appreciation, especially from those critical of biased media coverage. Many are now calling for more responsible journalism, with an emphasis on firsthand reporting rather than studio-based sensationalism.
Her statement has also sparked a wider and much-needed conversation about the role of media in shaping public perception, particularly when it comes to sensitive regions like Kashmir and interfaith relations across India.
