Massive Protest Erupts in Parbhani Against Waqf Amendment Bill

Parbhani witnessed a massive outpouring of dissent as thousands gathered at the Eidgah Maidan to protest against the controversial Waqf Amendment Bill. The demonstration was organized by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and attracted a large crowd along with several prominent leaders, reported the Maktoob Media.
Among the key figures present were Asaduddin Owaisi, Board President Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, General Secretary Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, SDPI Vice President Muhammad Shafi, and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Sadatullah Hussaini. The protest remained peaceful yet powerful, voicing strong opposition to what was termed an “unconstitutional” move by the government.
In their speeches, the leaders not only demanded the immediate withdrawal of the bill but also expressed grief over the recent Pahalgam terror attack, offering condolences to the victims’ families.
Addressing the crowd, Asaduddin Owaisi declared, “I urge Modi to roll back this bill. I said in Parliament that it is a black law which will only benefit Modi. This law will rob us of our properties.”
Owaisi further emphasized that Waqf properties belong solely to Allah, questioning the government’s intentions behind introducing such a legislation. He accused the BJP government of plotting to seize mosques, graveyards, and other Waqf assets, dismissing claims that the bill aims to help poor Muslims as mere falsehoods.
The protest underlined the growing unrest and resistance among the Muslim community regarding the proposed amendments, raising serious concerns about the protection of religious properties and constitutional rights.
