NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi expressed strong anger over the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 28 innocent people. He said those behind the attack must be punished. He urged Prime Minister Modi to take clear and strong action without delay.
“28 people were killed in cold blood. It is clear who did it. They must pay the price,” Gandhi said. “The PM must act quickly. The action must be strong and clear. There should be no confusion,” he added.
Gandhi addressed the media after returning from Kanpur. He met the family of a terror victim there. He said the terrorists showed no mercy while killing the victims. “I won’t say how it happened. But those who did it, wherever they are, must be punished. The punishment must not be half-hearted,” he said.
He added, “They must know they can’t mess with India.” Gandhi also said the opposition gave full support to the government. “We made it clear in the all-party meeting that this attack is unacceptable,” he said.
He stressed, “Modi must take action. The entire opposition supports him. The attackers must pay.” Gandhi also conveyed the families’ message to the PM. They want the victims to be given the status of martyrs.
