Mumbra: A grand Izazī Mushaira (honorary poetry gathering) was held in Mumbra on April 27, 2025, in celebration of renowned poet Fakhr Alam Azmi. The event was jointly organized by Idara Adab Islami Mumbra, Payam-e-Shair, Aiwaan-e-Adab, and Khaama Adabi Forum.
Distinguished literary figures such as Abdullah Masroor, Ayaz Bastavi, Momin Hindi, and Zulfiqar Saeedi graced the occasion as special guests. The gathering began with a formal shawl presentation and bouquet felicitation for the event’s president Zubair Gorakhpuri, the guest of honour Fakhr Alam Azmi, and the host of the Mushaira Masood Hassas.
President Zubair Gorakhpuri presented a poetic tribute dedicated to Fakhr Alam Azmi, which was emotionally recited by Masood Hassas and warmly applauded by the audience. After a recitation of the Qur’an and a naat, a short break was observed for Isha prayers and tea.
The formal poetic session resumed thereafter and continued vibrantly until 11 PM. The event was extensively covered by Bazm-e-Saahil Sher-o-Adab media group.
The mushaira featured a wide array of powerful couplets from several accomplished poets, like Zubair Gorakhpuri,Fakhr Alam Azmi, Masood Hassas,Nihal Jalib.
Other poets who performed included Ejaz Hindi, Khursheed Alam Sabri, Saleem Rashk, Ayaz Bastavi, Masihoodeen Naziri, Ehteshaam Nashtar, Toufiq Fakhri, Aslam Sahir, Tabish Rampuri, Rafiq Chougule, Siraj Ghori, Kawish Siddiqui, and Saahil Bastavi.
The evening concluded with a heartfelt presidential address by Zubair Gorakhpuri, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Momin Hindi, acknowledging the presence of poets, guests, and the enthusiastic audience.
