Bengaluru: Karnataka’s Minister for Housing and Minority Welfare, B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, has stirred major controversy with his fiery statement against Pakistan, declaring that he is ready to become a suicide bomber and attack the neighbouring country — if permitted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, reported the Sadaa Times.
Addressing a press conference, Khan stated, “If Modi and Shah allow, I am prepared to ready myself like a suicide bomber and strike Pakistan. I swear by Allah, I am not joking. If it comes to sacrificing myself for the nation, I won’t hesitate.”
His remarks come in the wake of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where 27 people were killed and several injured. The attack took place in the Baisaran meadows, located about five kilometers from the Pahalgam hill station, intensifying tensions between India and Pakistan.
Referring to Pakistan as India’s “perpetual enemy,” Khan emphasized that he is willing to go to war if the central leadership authorizes it. The minister’s statement has gone viral on social media, sparking both criticism and applause.
The comment follows growing public anger and political pressure on the central government to take decisive action in response to the Pahalgam attack. AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi also voiced strong criticism of Pakistan, calling on the government to act with greater intensity than mere cross-border strikes.
The BJP government has already taken several stern steps, including banning the entry of Pakistani ships into Indian ports.
