New Delhi : The Centre for Study and Research (CSR) India successfully conducted the third session of its ongoing Intellectual Deliberation series on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Conference Hall of Markaz JIH, New Delhi. Themed “Impacting Knowledge Ecosystem: Way Forward,” the event brought together a diverse group of scholars, researchers, and academicians to reflect on the challenges posed by the current Eurocentric framework of knowledge production and to explore viable alternatives rooted in value-based epistemologies.

Jabir K., a research associate at CSR, welcomed the participants, setting the stage for a thoughtful evening. Mujtaba Farooq, postdoctoral researcher at CSR, convened the session.
Dr. Mohammed Rizwan, Director of CSR and adjunct faculty in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering at RTM Nagpur University, chaired the session and delivered a keynote address that critically examined the global knowledge ecosystem. Dr. Rizwan underscored that the dominant Western model of knowledge is deeply entrenched in specific ideological premises and is far from value-neutral.
Emphasizing the urgent need for a paradigm shift, he proposed an Islam-Inspired Knowledge Paradigm that would offer an alternative foundation for academic inquiry and knowledge dissemination. He introduced the concept of the “5Rs” – Recognize, Re-premise, Re-scale, Reproduce, and Reverberate – as a strategic framework to build and sustain this alternative ecosystem.
The lecture was followed by a lively interactive session, where participants engaged in dialogue and exchanged ideas on how to implement such a transformative vision in practical academic and institutional settings.
More than 40 distinguished attendees representing institutions such as Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi University, and Aligarh Muslim University participated in the event, reflecting the growing interest in value-driven intellectual discourse in Indian academia.
