Socialist Party (India) Condemns Online Trolling of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Demands Action

New Delhi: The Socialist Party (India) has issued a strong statement condemning the ongoing online trolling campaign targeting India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and his family. Terming the attacks as “cheap, shameful, and objectionable,” the party has demanded immediate and strict action against the individuals responsible.
In an official press release, the party stated that if the central government fails to act against these online abusers, the Socialist Party will hold the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accountable and allege its complicity. “Decisions are made by the government, not by individual officers,” the party emphasized, asserting that the lack of action could be seen as tacit approval.
The press note described the trolling as deeply unfortunate, especially considering that it targets a high-ranking government official and his family. “These anti-social and criminal elements are crossing all limits of decency in public discourse,” it said, “yet the BJP government and its ministers have remained silent. Their failure to act sends a disturbing message to all honest and dedicated officers.”
The party also suggested that the government might be using such incidents to divert public attention from its failures. “Is the BJP trying to protect itself by letting others be targeted?” the statement questioned.
Demanding a full investigation, the Socialist Party called for immediate scrutiny of the trolls’ social media accounts, bank transactions, and e-payment records. It urged central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Cyber Security cells to be deployed immediately to uncover the network and foreign forces that may be funding these anti-national activities.
The statement was jointly signed by Abhay Sinha, National General Secretary, and Tahseen Ahmed, National Vice President of the Socialist Party (India).
