New Delhi/Riyadh — A high-level Indian delegation, led by Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, visited Saudi Arabia to review and assess the arrangements for Hajj 2025. The visit included key meetings with Saudi officials and inspections of facilities provided to Indian pilgrims, reported the Madhyamam.
Dr. Kumar, accompanied by Consul General Mohd Shahid Alam and other officials, met with Dr. Badr bin Muhammad Al-Samhan, Vice Minister at the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Discussions covered logistical preparations, accommodation, transportation, health services, and pilgrim safety.
The Indian team also inspected accommodations in Makkah and Madinah, visited Mina and Arafat camps, and reviewed kitchen and food distribution systems meant for Indian pilgrims. The goal, officials said, is to ensure a smooth and dignified pilgrimage experience for Indian citizens.
India is expected to send over 1.75 lakh pilgrims for Hajj 2025, and both governments are coordinating closely to streamline the process. Saudi authorities assured full cooperation and reiterated their commitment to providing high-quality services to all pilgrims.
The visit reflects the Indian government’s proactive engagement in ensuring better facilities and a hassle-free Hajj journey for its citizens.
