90 Bangladeshi Nationals — 28 of Them Children — Detained in Mathura for Illegal Stay

Mathura, Uttar Pradesh — Uttar Pradesh Police have detained 90 Bangladeshi nationals, including 28 children, after a raid on several brick kilns in Khajpur village under Naujheel police-station limits, officials confirmed late Friday, reported the Varta Bharati.
Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said routine district searches led officers to the brick kilns, where they discovered 35 men, 27 women and the children living and working without valid documentation.
“During interrogation they admitted they were Bangladeshi citizens who shifted to Mathura three-to-four months ago from a neighbouring state,” Kumar told PTI, adding that investigators are probing possible trafficking networks and questioning the labour contractor who hired them.
Police also seized multiple Aadhaar cards suspected to have been obtained using forged papers outside Uttar Pradesh. All detainees are being processed under the Foreigners Act while authorities trace their facilitators and verify any wider links.
Legal proceedings are under way, officials said.
