New Delhi: A political storm has erupted after External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar admitted Pakistan was informed in advance about Operation Sindoor. The Aam Aadmi Party has called the admission a “betrayal” of national security and demanded an explanation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh slammed the government, calling Jaishankar’s claim “nothing short of treason.” He said alerting a state that harbors terrorists before a military strike is shocking and unforgivable.
Singh asked why Pakistan was told, labeling it a betrayal of Bharat Mata and the Indian Army. He demanded that Modi address the nation on the issue.
He also referenced former U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments, urging clarity on whose version—Trump’s or Jaishankar’s—is accurate.
Quoting Jaishankar, Singh alleged the government shared operational details ahead of the mission targeting terrorist hideouts. He noted Pakistan’s military honors terrorists.
“This is not a small matter,” Singh said. “It raises grave questions about the government’s intent and accountability.”
Operation Sindoor was hailed as a strategic success by officials. But Jaishankar’s remarks have cast doubt and ignited wider controversy.
Singh vowed the Opposition will press the issue in Parliament. “We stand with the Army and the country in every duty. But if the government betrays us, we will bring the truth to light,” he said.
