First Aid Trucks Enter Gaza After Months-Long Israeli Blockade

After nearly three months of an intense Israeli blockade, the first aid trucks have finally entered Gaza, bringing a small glimmer of relief to more than two million Palestinians grappling with a deepening humanitarian crisis, reported the Al Jazeera.
According to Israel and the United Nations, five aid trucks crossed into the besieged enclave through the Kerem Shalom crossing on Monday. The Israeli defense body responsible for coordinating humanitarian efforts confirmed that the trucks carried essential supplies, including baby food.
The United Nations welcomed the move, calling it a “positive step,” but stressed that the humanitarian situation remains dire. “This is only a start. Much more assistance is urgently needed to avert further catastrophe,” UN officials said. Recent warnings from food security experts indicate that Gaza is teetering on the edge of famine.
The aid entry comes amid growing international pressure and outcry over the deteriorating conditions in Gaza, which has faced relentless airstrikes, shortages of food and medicine, and widespread displacement since the beginning of the blockade.
