Outrage Mounts as No Action Taken Against Hindu Girl for Derogatory Remarks on Prophet Muhammad

Hyderabad — Tensions continue to rise across India’s Muslim community after no legal action has been taken against a Hindu girl whose derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in a viral video have sparked widespread anger and condemnation, reported the Madhyamam.
The girl, who initially tried to justify her abusive comments by claiming provocation from a Pakistani national, later issued a public apology. However, Muslim activists argue the apology lacked sincerity and was made under social pressure rather than genuine remorse.
AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly demanded that the Maharashtra government initiate legal proceedings, calling the remarks clear hate speech. Former Maharashtra MLA Waris Pathan and other AIMIM leaders also shared the video, accusing the administration of ignoring repeated anti-Muslim hate speech while being quick to act in similar cases involving Hindu sentiments.
The video shows the girl using foul language while targeting Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and even taking aim at Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, branding them disloyal. While the actors have remained silent, social media users linked her comments to a growing trend of Islamophobic narratives in the public space.
From Hyderabad to Delhi, Bhopal to Kolkata, Muslim groups have staged protests and voiced frustration at the apparent double standards in law enforcement. Community leaders assert that repeated silence on hate speech against Muslims only emboldens offenders, worsening communal tensions.
Legal experts and religious bodies, including the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, are now exploring legal options. Activists warn that if the police continue to delay registering an FIR—citing “content verification”—they will be forced to move court independently.
As the outrage continues to spread, many fear such unchecked speech will further polarise society and damage the fragile fabric of India’s communal harmony.
