Jamia Millia Islamia and Human Welfare Foundation Collaborate to Strengthen Academic Writing Skills

New Delhi: The Department of Educational Studies (DES), Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), in partnership with the Centre for Training and Academic Guidance (CTAG) of the Human Welfare Foundation (HWF), successfully conducted a three-day National Intensive Writers’ Clinic (NIWC) to enhance academic writing capabilities among budding scholars and researchers.
The event, hosted at the School of Education building on the JMI campus, carried the theme “A Hands-on Experience on Writing APA 7th Style Manuscripts.” It focused on the latest APA 7th Edition guidelines, combining theoretical insights with practical exercises to promote academic integrity, publishing standards, and improved scholarly communication.
Specifically tailored for PhD candidates and early-career researchers, the workshop provided a structured platform to cultivate clarity, coherence, and confidence in scholarly writing. Participants engaged in interactive sessions that emphasized the importance of publication ethics, citation formats, and research dissemination techniques, aligning with global academic standards.
Faculty members from Jamia and expert trainers from HWF guided the sessions, sharing valuable strategies for manuscript preparation and journal submissions. The initiative marks a significant step towards fostering a culture of rigorous academic writing and encouraging research excellence among India’s emerging intellectuals.
