Aligarh: Professor Asad U. Khan of the Biotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University, has been appointed Visiting Professor at the Institute of Oral Biology, University of Oslo, Norway, for a period of two years.
Professor Khan has previously collaborated with the laboratory of Professor Fernanda Petersen at the University of Oslo on a research project related to antimicrobial resistance. During his tenure as Visiting Professor, he will mentor PhD scholars, engage in interactive sessions with faculty and students, and work towards enhancing collaborative research between AMU and the University of Oslo. This association is expected to significantly strengthen joint research efforts on antimicrobial resistance in both countries.
Professor Khan has earlier held similar international academic positions, including Adjunct Professor at the University of Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), Spain (2015–2017), and Visiting Professor at the University Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia (2019–2021).
