Aligarh— Office bearers of the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) at Aligarh Muslim University visited the victims of the recent mob lynching incident in Harduaganj, Aligarh, where four Muslim men were brutally assaulted while transporting meat. The victims are currently receiving treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), where the MSF team expressed solidarity and ensured their access to proper medical care.
MSF, the student wing of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), also facilitated a direct conversation between the victims and IUML Rajya Sabha MP, Advocate Haris Beeran. The MP extended his full legal support to the victims and assured that efforts would be made to bring the attackers to justice.
Describing the incident as “horrific,” MSF AMU President Mohammed Sajjad condemned the increasing frequency of hate-driven violence against minorities. “This attack once again highlights how minorities are being targeted with impunity, often under the watch of law enforcement,” he said. “MSF remains steadfast in its commitment to support the victims in their recovery and pursuit of justice.”
MSF leader Mohammed Sinan echoed similar concerns, emphasizing, “This is not just an assault—it’s an attack on their identity and means of livelihood. We must unite to condemn such hate and ensure justice prevails.”
On Monday, several political parties including the Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress, and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) organized a protest outside the SSP office in Aligarh, raising slogans against the state government’s inaction.
The incident took place on Saturday, when a Hindutva mob stopped the meat transport vehicle, attacked the Muslim men, and set the vehicle on fire. Shockingly, reports indicate that the attack happened in the presence of police personnel, despite the victims having valid documentation for the meat transport and cattle slaughter.
