Amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Jordan and Norway have jointly reiterated their demand for an immediate ceasefire and the revival of efforts toward a two-state solution. Both countries emphasized that a sustainable peace can only be achieved through political resolution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, reported the Arab News.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, during his visit to Amman, met with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. The two leaders condemned the continued aggression in Gaza and the catastrophic humanitarian consequences faced by civilians. They stressed the urgency of international cooperation to halt hostilities and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Safadi and Eide also warned that without a political framework based on international law and United Nations resolutions, regional stability would remain elusive. They urged the international community to take serious steps to resume peace talks and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Both ministers underlined that the current escalation not only threatens lives in Gaza but also fuels broader instability in the region, making a just solution more urgent than ever.
