Five Arrested in UP’s Bahraich for Allegedly Chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’

Bahraich (Uttar Pradesh): Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district arrested five individuals for allegedly chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” and attempting to disturb communal harmony. The arrests followed the circulation of a video on social media that showed a group of youth raising the controversial slogan, reported the Varta Bharati.
According to the police, the incident occurred in Ambedkar Nagar village under the jurisdiction of Ramgaon police station. The arrested individuals have been identified as Avinash, Ajit Kumar, Vijay Pratap, Ankul, and Satpal, all residents of the same village.
The office of Superintendent of Police Ram Nayan Singh issued a statement confirming the arrests and said a case had been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Along with the five arrested, police have also named three unidentified individuals in the case.
Local residents alleged that those involved in the sloganeering are associated with the Bhim Army, a Dalit rights organization. Police are investigating the involvement of other individuals seen in the viral video.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage online, with social media users demanding strict action to ensure such acts do not disrupt peace and public order.
The investigation is ongoing.
