Peaceful Bakrid Celebrations in Chitrakoot: A Symbol of Hindu-Muslim Unity

Mau (Chitrakoot), India – The festival of Bakrid (Eid al-Adha) was celebrated with great harmony and devotion in the Mau tehsil of Chitrakoot district. The event stood out as a beautiful reflection of communal unity, with members of the Hindu community joining in to greet their Muslim neighbors on the occasion, reported the Dainik Bhasker.
Eid prayers were peacefully offered at various locations including Mau Nagar Panchayat, Redi, Pusauli-Bamburi, Khandeha, and Bargarh. Large congregations of the Muslim community gathered at Eidgahs across the region to perform the special prayers.
In a heartening display of social harmony, people from the Hindu community extended their greetings and joined in the joyous atmosphere, symbolizing the shared values and mutual respect between both communities.
To ensure smooth and safe celebrations, the district administration made comprehensive security arrangements. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Saurabh Yadav, Tehsildar Ram Sudhar, Naib Tehsildar Himanshu Dwivedi, Circle Officer Yameen Ahmad, Mau Police Station In-charge Durvijay Singh, and Bargarh Police Station In-charge were all present on the ground. Peace and order were maintained at all mosques and nearby areas throughout the event.
This year’s Bakrid in Chitrakoot emerged not only as a religious celebration but also as a shining example of communal harmony and brotherhood, reflecting the spirit of India’s pluralistic culture.
