Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Criticizes Neglect of Rajasthan Urdu Academy

–  Raheem Khan
Jaipur: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Rajasthan, has voiced concern over the poor state of the Rajasthan Urdu Academy. State president Mohammad Nazimuddin called the situation deeply disappointing and regrettable.
According to reports, the academy is currently managed by only one employee, who does not speak Urdu. This is the institution responsible for promoting Urdu across Rajasthan.
Nazimuddin said the academy has been struggling for a long time. He noted that letters, documents, and files in Urdu cannot be read or processed properly. Most of the incoming correspondence is in Urdu, which the staff cannot understand.
The academy’s Urdu library and book collection are also in poor condition. Administrative tasks used to be done in Urdu, requiring staff who knew the language. However, the current staff member allegedly cannot even recognize the Urdu alphabet.
The post of Secretary is held by Alka Meena, Additional Director General of Jawahar Kala Kendra. The Administrator’s charge is with Poonam, Jaipur Divisional Commissioner. Both officials are too busy to focus on the academy.
Nazimuddin said this negligence has angered and saddened Urdu lovers. He questioned the academy’s purpose if it runs with one unqualified employee. He urged the government to appoint Urdu-speaking staff and nominate Urdu scholars as the Chairman and members.
He emphasized that only then can the academy function effectively and serve its purpose.
