North Korea has sharply condemned Israel’s recent airstrike on Iran. It called the attack a “hideous act of aggression.” The statement came via the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
North Korea accused the U.S. and its allies of fueling instability in West Asia. The strike reportedly hit Iran’s missile manufacturing sites.
A Foreign Ministry spokesperson expressed “serious concerns” over the attack. They said it violated Iran’s sovereignty. It was described as an “unpardonable crime against humanity.”
“The current grave situation proves Israel, backed by the U.S. and the West, is a cancer-like entity for peace in the Middle East,” the KCNA quoted. It also called Israel a major threat to global peace and security.
North Korea and Iran maintain strong ties. Both face global sanctions for their nuclear and weapons programs. Reports also say both nations have supplied arms to Russia in its war with Ukraine, according to Yonhap.
This statement came after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that his “patience has already run out” with Tehran. A Situation Room meeting was held at the White House on Wednesday. No final decision has been made yet on U.S. action.
Israel’s Defence Forces confirmed ongoing strikes on Iran. These are aimed at crippling Iran’s military infrastructure. Regional tensions remain high. Fears of a wider war are growing.
