The Telangana chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has extended its heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the recent Israeli strikes that resulted in loss of lives.
A delegation led by Advocate Anees-ur-Rehman, General Secretary of SIO, along with State President Mohd Faraz Ahmed, Secretary Mohd Hammaduddin, and others, met with Iranian Consul General Mahdi Shahrokhi in Hyderabad. The delegation submitted a letter of solidarity, expressing grief over the casualties and standing with the affected families during this time of crisis.
In its letter, SIO condemned the Israeli aggression, stating that such attacks are a gross violation of international law and diplomatic protocols. The organisation highlighted that targeting civilian infrastructure and scientific personnel is a serious infringement of national sovereignty and a disregard for human life and global norms.
“SIO stands with the people of Iran, as our two nations share a long-standing relationship rooted in cultural, civilisational, and diplomatic ties. We hope for a peaceful resolution through dialogue and international cooperation,” the organisation stated.
The delegation also expressed concern for the safety of Indian students currently residing in Iran, particularly those from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. Mohd Faraz Ahmed appealed to the Indian government and its diplomatic mission in Tehran to take appropriate steps to ensure their safety and well-being.
