Bhupendra Tomar, known popularly as Pinky Chaudhary and head of the far-right outfit Hindu Raksha Dal, has ignited controversy after making communally charged statements during a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh, reported the Siasat.
In a now-viral video shared on social media, Chaudhary can be heard claiming:
“Aaj hum surakshit isliye hain kyunki police mein hamare Hindu bhai hain, seema par hamare Hindu bhai hain. Jis din police mein yeh jihadi bharti ho gaye us din aapko koi bacha nahi sakta. Jis din border par yeh bharti ho gaye us din aapko koi bacha nahi sakta.”
(“Today we are safe because our Hindu brothers are in the police and at the borders. The day these jihadis are recruited in police or military, no one will be able to save you.”)
He further stoked communal sentiments by referencing historical conflicts with Pakistan:
“Hamare itihaas mein jitne bhi Musalman the, jab Pakistan ke saath jagda hua toh unhone hathiyaar chhod diye, kehne lage hum nahi ladenge. Aisi sthiti yahan bhi hogi.”
(“Historically, whenever there was conflict with Pakistan, Muslims laid down their arms, refusing to fight. The same situation will occur here.”)
Despite widespread outrage on social media and calls for legal action, especially tagging the Uttar Pradesh and Ghaziabad Police, no FIR has been registered against Chaudhary yet.
Many netizens condemned the speech, questioning the silence of law enforcement. One X user wrote, “Is this not an insult to the martyrs who died protecting our borders? Has the UP Police given a free hand to such anti-social elements?”
Another comment stressed that India’s law and order should never be viewed through a religious lens:
“The police and armed forces are made up of people from all religions, all of whom are committed to national service. Leaders like him are a threat to national unity.”
This is not Pinky Chaudhary’s first brush with hate speech. In the past, he has been recorded urging Hindus to arm themselves and has alleged that Muslims aim to demolish the Ram Mandir if a Muslim becomes Prime Minister.
Despite this pattern of inflammatory rhetoric, he continues to operate with impunity.
