New Delhi: A large and peaceful protest was held at Kashmiri Gate outside the Shia Jama Masjid in Delhi on Friday, where hundreds of people gathered to show their support for Iran and denounce Israel’s recent military aggression, reported the Clarion India.
The demonstration followed the Friday congregational prayers and was led by Maulana Mohsen Takrir, the imam of the Shia Jama Masjid. The crowd, waving placards and holding up portraits of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, chanted slogans of solidarity, declaring, “We stand with Iran.”
This show of unity came in response to Israel’s recent attacks on Iran, which Tel Aviv claims were intended to curb Iran’s nuclear capabilities. However, protestors viewed the actions as part of a broader assault on the Muslim world.
“These attacks are not just on Iran—they are attacks on all Muslims. We will not stay silent in the face of injustice,” said Maulana Takrir during his address to the demonstrators.
Protestors also voiced strong disapproval of the United States’ role in the ongoing conflict, asserting that Muslims across the globe will not tolerate the suffering of innocent civilians in the region.
The protest, while passionate, remained entirely peaceful. Local police confirmed there were no reports of violence or disruptions. The participants urged international communities to condemn Israel’s military actions in Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen, citing them as clear violations of international law and acts of war against humanity.
The demonstration in Delhi adds to the growing global wave of protests demanding justice for the victims of Israeli aggression and expressing unwavering support for oppressed nations in the Middle East.
