Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Condemns US Strike on Iran, Expresses Solidarity with Iranian People

The Central Advisory Council (Majlis-e-Shura) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, chaired by Ameer e Jamaat Syed Sadatullah Husaini, commenced its session on June 22, 2025. On the first day of the meeting, the Council passed a significant resolution condemning the recent unilateral and aggressive US military strikes on Iran.
The resolution strongly denounced the US attacks and expressed full solidarity with the Iranian people. The Council described the escalating crisis in the Middle East as a grave concern for peace- and justice-loving people around the world. It squarely blamed the authoritarian stance of the United States and Israel’s expansionist ambitions for fueling this dangerous situation. The Israeli and American attacks, it said, are not only clear violations of international law and the UN Charter but also pose a direct threat to peace and stability across the region.
The resolution criticized the silence and complicity of Western powers over Israeli aggression and US support, saying it has further exacerbated the crisis. The Council warned that the bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites and civilian areas could trigger a prolonged and devastating war in the region.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind pointed out that no credible international body has presented any evidence suggesting that Iran violated the terms of the nuclear deal. Despite this, the US launched its attacks, which the Council described as irresponsible and destructive, pushing humanity toward catastrophe.
The Shura declared such acts as violations of both legal and moral principles and highlighted the risk of a massive humanitarian crisis. It noted the potential consequences: loss of civilian lives, destruction of infrastructure, mass displacement, collapse of essential services, and economic turmoil — all deeply troubling for global humanity.
The resolution also condemned the blatant double standards of global powers. While Israel’s unilateral aggressions are labeled as “self-defense,” Iran’s counter-measures are portrayed as acts of terrorism. The Council warned that such hypocrisy is the gravest threat to global peace.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind called upon the Government of India to play an active diplomatic role in ensuring an immediate ceasefire, utilize all available channels to de-escalate tensions, and remain committed to the foundational principles of India’s foreign policy — neutrality, anti-imperialism, and support for the oppressed nations of the Global South.
The Council urged the international community to take serious responsibility to:
Immediately halt American and Israeli aggression.
Punish those responsible for Israel’s ongoing genocide and war crimes against Palestinians.
Prevent further attacks on nuclear installations and civilian populations.
It also appealed to Muslim countries to go beyond issuing mere condemnations and actively collaborate with the global community to halt US-Israeli aggression through decisive and coordinated actions.
Lastly, the Shura called upon peace-loving people in India and across the globe to stand in solidarity with the Iranian people and other oppressed communities of the region, and to raise their voices against Zionist and American aggression in support of global peace.
