Narsinghgarh, Madhya Pradesh : A wave of anger and grief has engulfed the town of Narsinghgarh in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district following the brutal murder of a 50-year-old Muslim businessman, Maksood, on Friday, June 20, reported the Clarion India.
Maksood, a local crusher businessman, was found with multiple deep injuries and cuts on his body at his workplace in the Gadia area. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. The nature of the attack has sent shockwaves through the community.
The incident triggered immediate protests, with locals taking to the streets carrying Maksood’s body and demanding swift justice and the arrest of the culprits. Tensions escalated as many accused members of right-wing groups of involvement in the gruesome killing.
According to police reports, a few suspects have been taken into custody, but their identities have not yet been disclosed. A special investigation team has been constituted to probe the case.
However, residents expressed deep dissatisfaction with the police’s handling of the matter, alleging that the authorities were shielding the accused. Community leaders have called for a fair and transparent investigation, warning that any attempt to cover up the truth would deepen public outrage.
The murder comes amid growing concerns over targeted violence against minorities in the region. Rights groups and civil society organizations have urged the state government to act decisively to ensure justice and prevent further communal unrest.
