Israel Intensifies Airstrikes on Gaza City, Dozens of Palestinians Killed Amid Forced Evacuation Orders

GAZA CITY — Israeli forces have launched a relentless wave of airstrikes across Gaza, particularly targeting the eastern regions of Gaza City, following the military’s issuance of forced evacuation threats. Medical sources confirmed that at least 68 Palestinians were martyred on Sunday alone, including 47 from Gaza City and northern areas of the besieged territory, reported the Al Jazeera.
The bombardment has overwhelmed hospitals, already crippled by months of Israeli aggression, leaving medical workers struggling to treat the rising number of casualties.
Israel’s military campaign, which began following the October 7 attack, has now claimed the lives of over 56,500 Palestinians and injured 133,419, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. In comparison, approximately 1,139 Israelis were killed during the October 7 assault, with more than 200 taken captive.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated that Cairo is actively working on a fresh ceasefire proposal, which includes a 60-day truce in return for the phased release of Israeli captives.
The latest escalation underscores the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where displaced families continue to face starvation, siege, and indiscriminate shelling. International calls for restraint have largely been ignored, while human rights organizations are urging for immediate intervention to prevent further loss of life.
This latest assault adds to the growing accusations of genocide and war crimes being committed in Gaza, with thousands of children and women among the victims. Despite global protests, Israel’s aggressive operations continue unabated.
