Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan Seeks Compensation and Safety After Bharatpur Chambal Project Tragedy

Jaipur, Rajasthan – Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Rajasthan, expressed deep sorrow over the Chambal Project accident in Bharatpur. A soil collapse during construction work claimed four lives and injured several others. The incident has left the local community in shock.
JIH Rajasthan State President Mohammed Nazimuddin called the incident “extremely distressing” in a press release. He said, “The deaths of four people and injuries to many in the soil collapse at the Bharatpur Chambal Project have caused us deep sorrow. I offer heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. May God grant peace to the departed souls and strength to their loved ones.”
He also wished the injured a fast recovery. “We pray for their quick healing. They must get proper medical care,” he added.
Nazimuddin urged the state government to help the victims without delay. He demanded compensation for the families of the deceased and quality treatment for the injured.
He also called for strong safety steps. “The government must enforce strict safety standards to avoid such tragedies. Guidelines must be followed to protect workers,” he said.
The accident occurred during construction on the Chambal River in Bharatpur. Reports say a large part of soil suddenly collapsed, trapping several laborers. Four died instantly. Many others were badly hurt and taken to a nearby hospital.
JIH Rajasthan sees the tragedy as a result of poor safety at the site. The group raised concerns and called for urgent action.
Nazimuddin stressed that worker safety must be a top priority. “It is the duty of the government and project officials to provide a safe environment for workers,” he said. He noted that such accidents destroy families and spread fear in society.
The Bharatpur tragedy again highlights how safety rules are often ignored at work sites. JIH Rajasthan has not only offered condolences but also urged the government to support victims and take strong steps to stop such accidents. This incident is a harsh reminder to all about the need for safety and worker welfare.
