In a powerful new report, Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, has named several major corporations—including U.S. tech giants Microsoft, Alphabet Inc. (Google’s parent company), and Amazon—as complicit in aiding Israel’s ongoing genocidal assault on Gaza and the displacement of Palestinians, reported the Al Jazeera.
The report alleges that these corporations are providing critical technological infrastructure and services that support Israel’s military operations, surveillance systems, and occupation machinery. According to Albanese, these activities constitute clear violations of international law and contribute directly to what she has previously termed a “genocide in progress.”
“This is not just about corporate irresponsibility; it is about active participation in war crimes,” Albanese stated in her findings. The companies listed in the report are accused of enabling the Israeli government to expand illegal settlements, suppress Palestinian resistance, and maintain an apartheid regime under the guise of national security.
Human rights organizations have long warned of the dangerous partnerships between tech firms and military operations worldwide. However, this latest UN report places renewed pressure on global institutions to investigate and hold accountable corporations that profit from conflict zones and human suffering.
The report calls for immediate sanctions, divestment, and international legal proceedings against all entities found complicit in violations of humanitarian law in occupied Palestine.
