Saudi Arabia’s SAMI AI Initiative Trains Over 3.3 Lakh Citizens

Riyadh:In a major step toward digital transformation, Saudi Arabia has successfully trained over 330,000 of its citizens through the SAMAI (Saudi Made Artificial Intelligence) initiative. The program, launched by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is part of the kingdom’s broader vision to empower its citizens with cutting-edge digital and AI skills, as per a report by the Madhyamam.
The SAMAI initiative, introduced to enhance the country’s AI capabilities, offers a wide range of courses designed to equip participants with future-ready skills. These include data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and analytics — all tailored to meet global standards and the needs of the rapidly evolving job market.
SDAIA has collaborated with leading global tech companies and academic institutions to ensure the quality and relevance of the training content. The authority emphasized that the program aims not just to educate but to build a sustainable digital ecosystem within the Kingdom.
This effort aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, the country’s strategic framework to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil by fostering innovation, technology, and youth empowerment.
Officials noted that the large-scale public engagement with SAMAI reflects growing interest among Saudi youth to participate in the digital revolution and contribute to the nation’s technological growth.
The Kingdom continues to position itself as a regional leader in artificial intelligence, data technologies, and digital innovation.
