In a shocking escalation of violence, the Government Media Office in Gaza has reported that Israeli forces committed 59 massacres over the past 100 hours, killing at least 288 Palestinians and injuring 1,088 others. Among the dead are 99 civilians who were struck near humanitarian aid distribution points, reported the Varta Bharati.
According to the statement released by the Gaza authorities, the majority of the victims are women, children, and elderly individuals. The statement condemned the attacks as a “deliberate targeting of the most vulnerable groups” aimed at causing “maximum death, extermination, and destruction.”
Civilians searching for food were described as being “lured into death traps,” as Israeli strikes targeted overcrowded shelters, public recreation spaces, homes, markets, and areas filled with displaced families. The Government Media Office also accused Israeli forces of bombing the Al-Mawasi area, which had previously been designated as a “safe zone,” and striking those attempting to access food through humanitarian corridors.
Medical infrastructure has also been devastated. Clinics, health centers, and other essential facilities have come under repeated attacks, with blood supplies now critically low. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported a dire shortage, stating that while over 10,000 units of blood were used over the past month, only 3,500 units have been replenished.
The statement called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to stop what it described as a systematic genocide. It urged the enforcement of international laws to protect civilians and halt the “daily toll of systematic death.”
Since the escalation of Israel’s military campaign following the events of October 7, 2023, Gaza’s health authorities have confirmed a staggering death toll of 57,418 Palestinians, with over 136,261 injured — most of them women and children.
In recent weeks alone, more than 700 Palestinians have been killed while attempting to secure food. The Ministry of Health further reported that at least 743 people have been killed and 4,891 wounded at controversial distribution centers linked to the U.S.-Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Human rights organizations continue to raise alarms about the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza, while calls for an immediate ceasefire and international intervention grow louder.
