Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Expresses Deep Concern Over Rajasthan Jet Crash and Gujarat Bridge Collapse

New Delhi : Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has expressed deep grief and concern over two tragic incidents that shook the nation today — the crash of an Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter aircraft in Rajasthan’s Churu district and the collapse of a bridge in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district that resulted in multiple vehicles falling into the river, claiming at least ten lives and injuring many others.
In a statement issued to the media, Prof. Salim Engineer, Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and extended prayers for the swift recovery of the injured in both tragedies.
“We stand in solidarity with the affected families and communities. We also appreciate the prompt response of emergency teams and local authorities who rushed to the scene and undertook rescue operations,” said Prof. Salim.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, he raised serious concerns over the recurring failures in both civil infrastructure and defence systems. “These back-to-back tragedies raise urgent questions about infrastructure safety and the standards of defence preparedness,” he stated.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has urged the government to carry out transparent, time-bound, and thorough investigations into both the aircraft crash and the bridge collapse. The organisation stressed that preventive and corrective measures must be undertaken without delay to ensure such painful incidents do not recur in the future.
