The Children of Islamic Organisation (CIO) has launched an inspiring mission to plant 24,000 trees across the capital city of India. This green campaign titled “Hands in Soil, Hearts with India” is being carried out from 25th June to 25th July 2025, aiming to spread environmental awareness and promote a culture of sustainability among the younger generation.
The campaign officially began on 14th July with tree plantation drives held at Milli Model School and The Scholar School in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi.
During the event, Salimullah Khan, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Delhi, shared that the CIO team – along with children – will be visiting schools, hospitals, police officers (SHOs), government officials, and individuals in the community. The children will personally gift a plant sapling to each person they meet, carrying forward the message of green responsibility.
Shazia Bari, Convener of CIO, stated that the team is working tirelessly to achieve the plantation target. As part of their outreach efforts, they are also engaging with local area councillors to strengthen community participation and support.
This initiative is a powerful example of how children-led action can shape a greener, healthier future for India.
