Gaza – In a powerful message to the world, the spokesperson of Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, revealed that the Israeli government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a comprehensive ceasefire deal that would have secured the release of all captives in Gaza. The rejection, according to Hamas, underscores Tel Aviv’s greater interest in continuing its genocidal war rather than rescuing its own soldiers, reported the Al Jazeera.
“We have repeatedly proposed a comprehensive agreement to release all captives at once,” said Abu Obeida in a 20-minute pre-recorded video. “But the war criminal Netanyahu and his Nazi ministers turned it down, exposing their disregard for their own people.”
Abu Obeida did not hold back in criticizing Israel’s political leadership, stating bluntly, “It is now evident that Netanyahu’s government does not prioritize the lives of its soldier captives and has even conditioned its society to accept their collective death.” Despite this, he affirmed, “We have preserved their lives as much as we can.”
He stressed that Hamas remains engaged in efforts to find a solution, saying, “We are closely following the negotiations and striving for an agreement that ends the war on our people, guarantees the withdrawal of occupation forces, and brings needed relief to Gaza.”
In a stark warning, he added, “If the criminal enemy once again withdraws or sabotages this round of talks as it has in the past, then even limited or partial deals—like the ten-captives release proposal—may no longer be on the table.”
Obeida denounced the Israeli regime’s tactics as “dirty solutions” that involve war crimes, collective punishment, genocide, and ethnic cleansing—all carried out with open support from the United States. “Our resistance stands strong despite the world’s most powerful armies backing the Zionist entity, while the regimes of our Ummah remain silent as Gaza is starved, bombed, and deprived of medicine.”
He saluted people of conscience across the globe who continue to show solidarity with Gaza, declaring, “Every act of support by freedom-loving individuals, even if suppressed by Zionist influence, is a badge of honor for our besieged people.”
Calling on the world to intensify its efforts, Obeida urged, “Expose the occupiers. Use every platform and every method to confront this tyranny.”
These statements come amid stalled ceasefire negotiations in Doha. Israel has continued to insist on military dominance in Gaza, pushing for the establishment of the Morag and Magen Oz Corridors that sever Rafah and Khan Younis from northern Gaza—moves widely seen as part of a long-term occupation strategy.
Earlier, Hamas senior leader Taher al-Nunu said the group had agreed to the latest truce proposal, showing flexibility “to end the genocide, ensure aid flow, and stop the killing of civilians.” He insisted that the withdrawal of Israeli troops must begin without inflicting further harm and must pave the way for permanent peace.
Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Ministry’s figures continue to paint a grim picture: over 58,667 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 140,000 wounded since October 2023. Since the collapse of the previous truce in March, 7,843 have been killed and 27,993 injured—the vast majority women and children.
On March 2, Israel blocked all humanitarian aid into Gaza—a move condemned by Egypt, Qatar, and the UN as a gross violation of ceasefire norms. Hospitals report an “unprecedented” influx of malnourished children and adults, many on the verge of death due to starvation and lack of medicines.
Adding to the horror, Israeli forces reportedly fire on aid distribution points and are pushing ahead with construction plans for what rights groups have condemned as a “concentration camp” on the ruins of Rafah, drawing sharp rebukes from human rights organizations and international observers.
In Gaza, resistance lives on, and so does the hope for justice, dignity, and liberation.
